Johanna, a proud 20-year old Cuban immigrant, struggles to survive after the death of her father and while chased by financial problems, she agrees to participate in a smuggle sail trip. On this trip Johanna establishes a connection with a baby whale. When the baby whale gets shot, Johanna manages to remove the spear, but finds herself in the middle of a group of sharks. With her life at risk Johanna is rescued last minute by virtue of an unexpected miracle which signals the beginning of an amazing journey of two beings of different species. During this journey, Johanna is to learn to trust and believe.
